Unique Bouquets

I have a hard time with the concept of a wedding bouquet. I never wanted one because I was told the history of having them was to mask the smell of the bride since bathing wasn't a common luxury..yuck..besides the point I didn't want to hold anything on my wedding day. I wanted to wave my arms around, hug people, dance, & party without having to worry about a silly bouquet. Fighting my mom I finally gave in. No matter what tradition you chose to keep on your wedding I LOVE when brides take unique twists and do something different.

Mine was a hybrid between the brooch bouquet and paper flowers. If I was gonna have one it was gonna be meaningful so I had brooches that were from many women in my family and the flowers we my husbands love letters to me while he was on his mission. Easter Cookie Centerpiece

I LOVE cookies. Growing up my mom made cookies more than dinner for us so I see cookies as a well balanced meal :) Love you Mom. I love seeing arrangements that are not only pretty but edible, not the fruit kind, I like something more sinful. Here is a little Easter inspired one..

Wedding Films

When I was a little girl picking up dirty plates at the very last half hour of the receptions sometimes I would stop and watch the wedding videos that were playing on repeat close by. Shania Twain and Celine Dion songs use to haunt my mind because for years there were no other tunes featured on their videos. The films were cute and sweet but I applaud Bride & Grooms who not only step out of the box but crush it beneath their feet. I knew when it came to my turn at a video mine wouldn't be like others. Silent movies, harsh lines, dark artistic pieces were our inspiration. Loren Brinton of Brinton Films is edgy like me and is creatively brilliant. He creates so much more than videos, he creates films.

Parties & weddings are pretty much my life. I've been catering with my aunt since I was twelve and I've witnessed the good, the bad, and the ugly. I've seen what works and what doesn't and I want to share that with all of you!
